You’re welcome to book an appointment through the SCHEDULING tab above. If you have any questions or prefer to connect directly, feel free to call or text me at 705-493-1953 or email me at brittany@wellnesswavespsychotherapy.ca.
Your first session is all about getting to know each other while reviewing the Consent to Treatment and Intake forms. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to get out of it, and begin building a foundation of trust and comfort while working. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready for, there’s no pressure.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply curious about yourself and your patterns, therapy can help. You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis or crisis to benefit from support. Therapy can be a space to explore your values, strengthen coping tools, improve relationships, or process life transitions.
Psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) are often covered by extended health benefits. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage.
I accept e-transfer (preferred method), credit card, cash, and cheque payments. Payment is typically due at the time of each session, and receipts are provided, which you can submit to your insurance provider if you have coverage. Payments must be made before the beginning of next session otherwise it will be cancelled until the balance is paid.
I do offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to make therapy more accessible. Feel free to reach out to discuss availability.
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to the full session fee, as that time is reserved just for you.
Yes, therapy is a confidential space, and what you share is protected. The only exceptions include situations where I consult with my supervisor to support your care—any identifying information is removed—and a few legal exceptions related to safety. I’ll go over all of this in detail during our first session so you know exactly what to expect.
The length of therapy varies depending on your needs and goals. Some clients come for a few sessions, others stay for several months or longer. We’ll check in regularly to make sure you’re getting what you need from our time together.
Wellness Waves Psychotherapy is located in the Port Building at 222 Main St. East, between TD Bank and Northern Tikes. Client parking is available behind the building near the wooden stairs in spots #1, 5, 7, 10, and 11. If those spots are full, paid parking is available in the nearby city lot or along Main Street. When you arrive, call or text me, and I’ll meet you at the front or back entrance—whichever is most convenient for you.
Yes, I offer secure virtual appointments for clients across Ontario. Online sessions are held through a confidential video platform, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and convenience of your own space.
If you are struggling, I will do my best to see you at my earliest convenience, although this is not always possible.
If you are in crisis and requiring support outside of business hours or when I am not available, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department. You can also contact Talk Suicide Canada at 1-833-456-4566 or text 45645, or reach out to ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600 for 24/7 mental health support and resources.
